Dave and Josh were inspired to build this business by the many conversations they had on Sansom Street in Philadelphia, PA.
Josh leads SSC and focuses primarily on evaluating investment opportunities in the MSP space and on the acquisitions themselves. Josh serves on the boards of each portfolio company, advises on organic growth strategy, and helps our CEOs prioritize profitability. He has more than 25 years of experience in the managed services industry.
Career Highlights
- Led the acquisition of four MSPs for CompassMSP totaling more than $30 million in revenue.
- Built and exited three IT services companies, including Western Digitech, a best-in-class MSP with offices in Miami and Tampa, FL.
Dave Davenport, Managing Director
Dave is the co-founder of Sansom Street Capital and serves as board chairman for each portfolio company.
At Sansom, he partners with our portfolio leaders to drive growth and value creation through operational excellence and through the development of unique and intentional corporate cultures.
Career Highlights
- Led Operations for CompassMSP, one of the largest MSP platforms in the country.
- Built and exited two IT companies, including MotherG, a $7 million top-quartile MSP in Chicago, and TransTech, a leading IT staffing company also in Chicago.

Sadly, nearly all MSPs never clear this threshold and are stuck at that sub-scale level.
